Tsvetan Simeonov has been working with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) for more than 40 years. He began his professional career as a legal expert, serving in various departments of the Chamber, including the Trade Register Directorate and the Legal Department. In June 2009, he was elected President of BCCI. Mr. Simeonov is a member of numerous national and international professional bodies, including the Employers’ Delegation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva;the Board of Directors of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) in Brussels;the Business Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC BC);the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation at the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria;and the Economic and Social Council of Bulgaria. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of GS1 Bulgaria and as an Arbitrator at the Arbitration Court of BCCI. Born in Bulgaria, Mr. Simeonov graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with a Master’s Degree in Law in 1979. His postgraduate qualifications include International Arbitration and Commercial Law. He further specialized in Labour Law and Social Relations at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) in Turin, Italy. In addition to his native Bulgarian, Mr. Simeonov is fluent in English and Russian and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
