Marco Hannappel was appointed President, Europe Region in August 2026. He previously served as President, Latin America & Canada Region and Area Vice President, Southwest Europe, with responsibility for Italy and the Iberian Peninsula. Mr. Hannappel joined Philip Morris International in 2019 as President and Managing Director of Italy. Since then, he has held a series of leadership positions of increasing responsibility, driving business growth, accelerating the company's smoke-free transformation, and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders across diverse and highly regulated markets. Prior to joining PMI, Mr. Hannappel held senior leadership roles at Samsung Electronics Italy, including Vice President. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Florence, Italy.
