Vangelis Karamintzios is the President of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Recycling Organization (HRA), a key institution in Greece's efforts towards sustainability and circular economy. Born in 1986 in Trikala, Thessaly, he holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina and a Master’s degree in Management and Administration of Economic Units and Organizations from the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
Before transitioning to public administration, he built a career in education as a Mathematics teacher in one of Athens’ leading educational groups. In 2019, he joined the Ministry of the Interior as a special associate, contributing to policy development and organizational reform. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of DEPA International Projects S.A., overseeing strategic energy initiatives.
His involvement in cutting-edge sustainability programs includes participation in the Greek Government's Working Group for the pilot implementation of the "Astypalea – Smart and Sustainable Island" program, a pioneering project in sustainable development and mobility.
With a strong commitment to public service and expertise in governance, Vangelis Karamintzios has authored numerous reports and analyses, providing insights into environmental policy and sustainable development.
