Seda Kuzucu has been leading the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR in Bulgaria as a Representative, since November 2022. Over her three-decade career with UNHCR, Seda Kuzucu has been part of emergency responses across various regions as Senior Emergency Coordinator, including Tunisia, Myanmar, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Her diverse roles have included serving in Kenya, Thailand, and China. She has been in charge of UNHCR response as Head of Field Office in Presevo, Serbia, Senior Resettlement Officer (Policy) at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva, and Senior Protection Coordinator in Kakuma, Kenya. With the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Seda Kuzucu re-opened UNHCR Slovakia office. Prior to her appointment in Sofia, she served as the Senior Emergency Coordinator at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva.
