Lilyana Pavlova is a Bulgarian politician and economist. Lilyana Pavlova is a former Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (2019-2023) responsible for Cohesion policy investments;Transport Policy Investments, incl. Road Safety policy;Advisory services of the Bank;Digital Transformation of the EIB Group, IT and data governance. She was also responsible for the activities of the Bank in Eastern Europe – incl. Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and the Western Balkans Region. Lilyana Pavlova is the first female Minister of regional development in the 130-year history of the ministry. She was Minister of Regional Development and Public Works in two governments in the period 2011-2013 and 2014-2017, and before that, Deputy Minister in the same ministry 2009-2011. Mrs. Pavlova was a Member of Parliament in the 41st, 42nd, 43rd and 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the period May 2017 - December 2018, she was the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU 2018. She has extensive experience in the field of management of European funds and projects since 1997. During the period 2002-2009, she was Head of Department in the Ministry of Finance (Financial Management, Control and Certification of EU Pre-accession, Structural and Cohesion Funds funds). Lilyana Pavlova has a PhD in Economics, a Master’s degree in Public Administration and European Integration and a Bachelor degree in International Economic Relations.
